Kate Middleton may live in Kensington Palace and have access to beautiful tiaras and designer gowns, but she still manages to live a thrifty lifestyle. She has been spotted shopping for bargains, wearing high street labels and doing free activities with her children.
Earlier this year, Kate re-wore a pair of boots she has owned for 17 years, as she visited a farm with Prince William.
The Duchess of Cambridge loves the countryside and wore her favourite long tassel boots from Penelope Chilvers, which cost £475.
She was first spotted wearing them at Blenheim Palace in 2004 and wore them one year later at the Gatcombe Festival of Eventing in Gloucestershire.
Re-wearing clothes and shoes have become a staple practice in Kate Middleton’s fashion wardrobe, and show she is a very economical royal.

The Duchess of Cambridge stunned shoppers in 2018 by popping into the budget shop The Range to buy Christmas presents.
Kate, who was with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, mingled with crowds in the cut-price outlet.
She bought some pictures, children’s books and artist materials then queued at the tills, to the amazement of the royal fans who spotted her.
Kate had previously surprised shoppers when she went to pick up some Halloween supplies in a local Sainsbury’s in Norfolk.

The Duchess of Cambridge also favours free outdoor activities with her children, despite having the budget to take them on expensive outings.
A royal source told The Sun: “Kate is giving her children the Enid Blyton ‘Famous Five’ life that she always wanted for them.
“She ensures their lives are outdoorsy and full of tree climbing, swimming, making dens, growing their own flowers and vegetables, team games, dog walking.
“It’s a solid, balanced, kind family life that she always experienced in Bucklebury.”
Kate and William travelled on a £73-a-head FlyBe plane from Norwich to Aberdeen Airport, when on their way to visit the Queen in 2019.
The total cost for the family of five would have been just £365.
Footage showed Prince William walking across the runway while holding four bags with George and Charlotte.
Stunned passengers watched as Kate followed carrying Louis, in disbelief they were flying on a budget airline.
Moreover, both Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s bedrooms are filled with Ikea furniture.
Kate made the revelation in 2018 to Ikea’s Head of Design, Marcus Engman at the National Museum of Architecture and Design in Stockholm.
The Duchess is not scared to wear high street brands, including at the Chelsea Flower Show where she wore some £8 earrings from Accessorize.
She has also worn items from Topshop, Zara and Gap throughout her 10 years as a working royal.
Despite having her own chef, Kate also prefers to bake her kids a homemade cake each year.
When Kate and William starred on Mary Berry’s BBC programme ‘A Berry Royal Christmas’, the Duchess said: “I love making the cake.
“It’s become a bit of a tradition that I stay up ’til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much. But I love it.”
