Buccaneers fans beg Gisele Bündchen for Tom Brady’s NFL return
Buccaneers fans are throwing a Hail Mary to Tom Brady’s favorite fan in the hopes of seeing the quarterback play another year.
On Tuesday, the same day the Buccaneers quarterback posted an Instagram message reflecting on the season and his future, Tampa Bay supporters flooded the comments section after Brady’s wife, Gisele Bündchen, reacted to the post with an emoji heart and prayer hands animation.
“@gisele please allow him to play one more year PLEASE,” one fan wrote, while another issued a similar sentiment, “One more year and his 8th ring! He was at the top of his game all season!”
Brady, who won his seventh Super Bowl ring last February, and his first as a Buccaneer, saw his 22nd NFL season come to an end Sunday after a NFC Divisional Round playoff loss to the Rams. Following the game, the 44-year-old quarterback said he was going to take some time before making a decision about what’s next.
“I haven’t put a lot of thought into it so, I’ll just take it day by day and see where we’re at,” Brady said Sunday after he led the NFL in passing yards (5,316) and touchdowns (43).
The next day, Brady elaborated on his thought process while chatting with Jim Gray on their SiriusXM podcast, “Let’s Go!”
“I think the point is there’s no real rush for me to figure out what’s next,” Brady said. “I’ll know when I know. It’s the day after the season. I think for all of us we can decompress a bit. It’s been six straight months of football. Every day, consumed by day in and day out football. Now is just the time to spend some time with my family and my kids.”
Brady added that Bündchen, 41, his wife of nearly 13 years, has been his “biggest supporter.”
“It pains her to see me get hit out there, and she deserves what she needs from me as a husband and my kids deserve what they need from me as a dad,” he said. “I’m gonna spend some time with them and give them what they need, because they’ve really been giving me what I need the last six months — to do what I need to do and I said this a few years ago. It’s what relationships are all about. It’s not always about what I want. It’s about what we want as a family. And I’m gonna spend a lot of time with them and figure out in the future what’s next.”
Brady and Bündchen share two children together: daughter Vivian, 9, and son Benjamin, 12. The quarterback also has a 14-year-old son, Jack, with ex Bridget Moynahan.
Although the future for Brady is still unwritten, fans are grateful to have experienced several explosive chapters of his storied career.
“Love the Brady Family! Thank you all for the wonderful years of excitement! @tombrady god bless,” one fan commented on Tuesday’s Instagram post, with another responding, “Tom is lucky to have such a supportive wife and family. He has earned my respect on and off the field. God bless your family. I wish you guys all the best in the future.”
