Actor-comedian Buboy Villar has clarified reports that he is resigning as one of the hosts of the new “Eat Bulaga” (EB), saying he will continue to bring joy to its audience, though he may not be seen on the show on some days due to his other commitments.

Villar addressed speculations about his supposed departure from the noontime show on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” during which Boy Abunday said the talk show’s head writer supposedly reached out to Villar, who then said that he would not be appearing on “Eat Bulaga” on some days of the week due to conflict in his schedule, but is not leaving the noontime show entirely.

“[Buboy Villar] says that may mga pagkakataon na maaaring hindi siya makakapag-host because of his commitments to his other shows,” Abunda announced. (Buboy Villar says there will be moments that he wouldn’t be able to host because of his commitments to his other shows.)

In a statement flashed on Abunda’s show, Villar said that he is grateful for all the blessings that have been going his way, especially his Eat Bulaga hosting gig. On top of this, he also appears every Sunday on the GMA Sunday variety show, All-Out Sunday with Betong Sumaya.

“Gusto ko lang po linawin na hindi po totoo ang mga kumakalat na balita na ako ay nagpaalam na sa noontime show na ‘Eat Bulaga.’ Patuloy pa rin po akong magpapasaya sa ating mga Dabarkads,” his statement read.

(I just want to clarify that reports on my supposed departure from the noontime show “Eat Bulaga” are not true. I will continue bringing joy to our Dabarkads.)

The Kapuso star also expressed his gratitude to his supporters for accepting him as one of the show’s newest hosts following the departure of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon (TVJ), as well as its former mainstay hosts last May 31.

“Sa mga Kapuso at mga Dabarkads, una sa lahat lubos po akong nagpasalamat sa Diyos sa mga biyayang aking natatanggap at sa lahat ng mga sumuporta at patuloy na sumusuporta sa akin,” he added.

(To Kapuso and Dabarkads, first of all, I’m very thankful to the Lord for the blessings I’ve received and to my fans who continue to support me.)

Villar was introduced as one of noontime show’s new hosts last June 5, which came six days after TVJ and its former mainstays cut off ties with production company TAPE Inc.

Also leading EB’s new hosts are Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya, Cassy Legaspi, Mavy Legaspi, Alexa Miro, and Isko Moreno. EDV
