J-Hope of K-pop supergroup BTS will reportedly enlist in the military on April 18, although his label Big Hit Music said that it’s “difficult” to confirm the date at the moment.

The BTS member’s enlistment date was first reported by Korean media outlet News1 on Thursday, April 13, saying that he would be fulfilling his mandatory service at a training center in Gangwon Province which was given by “a military source.”

The K-pop idol will receive his basic military training for “five weeks” before getting deployed to his unit at the “end of next month,” per report.

However, South Korean music label Big Hit Music quickly responded to the reports in an official statement via Sports Seoul as it said that it’s “difficult” to confirm the official date, as of this writing.

“It is difficult for us to confirm the date and location of J-Hope’s enlistment. We ask for your understanding in this regard,” Big Hit Music said.

It was reported that the “On The Street” singer will enlist as an active duty soldier after canceling his enlistment postponement in February 2023. His label then assured fans that updates about his mandatory military service will be released to the public in the coming days.

Born as Jung Ho-seok, J-Hope will be the second BTS member to enlist in the military following Jin. EDV
