Bruno Fernandes involved in altercation with steward after Man Utd goal vs Chelsea

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes was involved in a bizarre altercation with a steward while celebrating Jadon Sancho’s goal versus Chelsea. The Red Devils stars raced to the away end at Stamford Bridge but Fernandes ended up appearing to clash with a steward trying to separate the players from the fans.

Sancho made the most of Chelsea star Jorginho’s error and raced through on goal. He coolly slotted the ball beyond Edouard Mendy to score his first-ever Premier League goal.

The England star led his team-mates to the away section which is situated behind the goal at Chelsea’s stadium.

Even the substitutes, including Cristiano Ronaldo, joined the group celebration. It was the first domestic goal scored during Michael Carrick’s caretaker tenure.

Stewards attempted to prevent the United players moving too close to the fans and that appeared to annoy stand-in captain Fernandes.

As the players moved away from the celebration, Fernandes could be seen on the TV footage attempting to push the steward away.

Fernandes moved away from Sancho’s grasp and moved the steward away with his forearm. None of the other United players appeared to notice the incident.

Sancho’s goal opened the scoring versus the Blues but United were not ahead for long.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s poor challenge prompted referee Anthony Taylor to award a penalty, from which Jorginho made up for his previous error.

The Italy international sent David de Gea the wrong way to level the scores just after the hour-mark.

Fernandes and goalscorer Sancho were part of a controversial line-up selection by Carrick, who is widely understood to be passing the baton over to Ralf Rangnick following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Cristiano Ronaldo was not named in the starting 11 for just the second time since his sensational return to Old Trafford. Fernandes’ countryman was previously angered by Solskjaer when he was left out of a Premier League fixture against Everton.

However, Carrick insists that the veteran attacker was content with the decision. Ronaldo appeared as a second-half substitute at Stamford Bridge.
