Bruce Springsteen delights Dublin residents as he stops off for fish and chips
The 73-year-old is on the Emerald Isle to perform three sold out shows at Dublin’s RDS Arena with his E Street Band but couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit a pub on his day off.
On Saturday, the rock legend dropped into the The Long Hall pub on South Great George’s Street, where he previously visited in 2016.
Dressed somewhat incognito for his surprise visit, the Streets of Philadelphia hitmaker donned a flat cap, trench coat and blue shirt as he mingled with the locals.
Bruce was seen toasting a pint with another punter, who was visiting the pub from Aberystwyth in Wales.
The pub shared the image on social media writing: ‘Seven years on it was lovely to welcome back two regulars to the pub today!
‘One from Aberystwyth in Wales the other from New Jersey in the US. It’s the randomness that makes it so special. Slainte!’
Clearly feeling peckish after his time in the boozer, Bruce then headed over to Leo Burdock in nearby Christchurch.
He delighted staff by posing behind the counter with his order, with the photo once again making its way to social media.
The post read: ‘Woohoo. The Boss stopped by our flagship Christchurch. Springsteen, amazing legend.’
The shop’s owner Charlie McGrachan later opened up on them visit, telling DublinLive: ‘When he comes to town, over the last 10 or 12 times, we’ve managed to get him in. He’s become a regular.
‘He’s such a nice guy. He’s great with any of the regular staff.
‘He has no problem letting people take photos of him. Just genuine. Real nice person.’
And for those of you itching to know what Bruce orders, Charlie spilled that his go-to is lemon sole with chips, while his band opted for cod and chips.
Writing about Shane and Bruce’s meeting on Twitter, Shane’s wife Victoria said: ‘What an amazing honour and a beautiful experience to get a visit from The Boss!!!’
She added: ‘Such a truly wonderful man and a total genius!’
