Britney Spears thanks ‘Free Britney’ movement for saving her life

Britney Spears has shared she’s grateful for her newfound independence after 13 years of living under a conservatorship and thanked the ‘Free Britney’ fans for “saving” her life.

In an emotional video posted to her social media the ‘Toxic’ singer spilled on how she’s enjoying her new life while teasing she could be a guest on the Oprah show.

“I have been in the conservatorship for 13 years – it’s a really long time to be in a situation you don’t want to be in,” Britney shared with her followers.

“I am just grateful honestly for each day and being able to have the keys to my car, to be independent as a woman.

“Owning an ATM card, seeing cash for the first time, being able to buy candles. It’s the little things for us women but it makes a huge difference.”

The 39-year-old thanked the fans behind the ‘Free Britney’ movement who barracked for the singer to have her conservatorship removed for years.

“The ‘Free Britney movement’, you guys rock,” she said.

“Honestly my voice was muted and threatened for so long and I wasn’t able to speak up or say anything.

“Because of you guys and the awareness of kind of knowing what was going on and delivering that news to the public for so long.

“You gave it awareness to all of them and because of you I honestly think you guys saved my life in a way.”
