Britney Spears marks first wedding anniversary by deleting Instagram
Sam Asghari has paid tribute to his ‘better half’ as he and Britney Spears celebrate one year of marriage, while she deleted Instagram.
Toxic singer Britney deleted her account on the eve of her and Sam’s first wedding anniversary, meaning there were no posts from her marking the big day – thoughSam went all out for both of them.
The pair tied to knot at Britney’s home in Los Angeles on June 9 last year in a lavish and star-studded affair, after getting engaged in September 2021.
Britney and Sam had been dating since 2016 after meeting on the set of Brit’s music video where Sam was working as a dancer.
It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster year for the pair, who along with going on sunkissed holidays and adopting a dog together, have also denied rumours of a planned intervention for Britney and faced claims the marriage was in trouble – which they essentially laughed off.
Britney had also hit out at fans who called police to her home after she deleted her Instagram previously, and warned fans not to do that if she ever deleted her account again.
Now Sam has marked their first anniversary with a sweet post on Instagram which shows he and Britney with their hands over each other, showing off their wedding rings.
He wrote: ‘Happy 1 year to me & my better half.’
In the next Story, he shared a video montage of their big day, featuring a grinning Britney in her Versace dress being helped into her horse-drawn carriage which would bring her to the ceremony.
Britney walks up the aisle with the same grin on her face, and the newly-married couple kiss, before walking down the aisle hand-in-hand as guests cheer.
The montage goes on to show the husband and wife sharing kisses in different areas of the lavish home, before Britney and Sam pull away in a limo emblazoned with the words ‘just married,’ while their guests wave sparklers to see them off.
He wrote alongside the video: ‘One year married to the woman of my dreams.
‘Happy anniversary my love.’
The day itself was almost fairytale but did not go off without a hitch, as first ex-husband Jason Alexander attempted to crash the nuptials while livestreaming online.
Britney and Sam said ‘I do’ to one another in front of around 60 guests, which included the likes of Drew Barrymore, Selena Gomez, Paris Hilton and Madonna.
In March of this year, Sam seemingly responded to rumours the marriage was in trouble after both he and Britney were seen without their wedding rings, Britney on holiday in Hawaii with pal Cade Hudson at the time.
Days later however, Sam shared a selfie to Instagram looking exasperated with his hand on his head and his wedding ring clearly visible.
