Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander claims he crashed the singer’s wedding to ‘check she was okay’ and stop her from marrying Sam Asghari.

The Toxic singer married her long-term boyfriend, former back-up dancer Sam, this summer after six years together, becoming engaged after her conservatorship ended.

But the happy occasion was marred as her ex Alexander attempted to break into her home, where the ceremony was taking place.

The pair had been childhood friends and in 2004 were famously married for just 55 hours before it was annulled.

Alexander live-streamed himself forcing entry to Spears’ home and trying to access the wedding, with the 40-year-old later being sentenced to 128 days in jail for battery, trespassing and vandalism.

Now he says his plan was to stop the wedding and make sure it was ‘what [Spears] wanted.’

In a new interview with the Daily Mail, Alexander says he ‘couldn’t let her get married’ and insisted he ‘wasn’t there to cause harm.’

‘I was just there to Speak to Britney and make sure she was okay and this is what she wanted.’

He claimed he had been talking to Spears the day before the wedding and she hadn’t mentioned anything about getting married to him, making him think she was being forced into it as he doesn’t ‘think she looks happy.’

Alexander went on to say that he had no intentions to hurt Britney, just to talk to her, but accepted it could have looked ‘a little scary.’

And on her family, who Britney has heavily criticised for their roles in keeping her under the conservatorship for 13 years, Alexander said ‘we all make mistakes and family is family,’ going on to talk about ‘forgiveness.’

Alexander had scaled a large fence to gain entry to Spears’ property, and was heard saying

on his live streamed video: ‘She’s my first wife, my only wife. I’m her first husband, I’m here to crash the wedding.’

Despite gaining access to the house, Alexander did not manage to interrupt Spears and Asghari’s wedding and the couple were married later in the day in front of a small handful of guests, including Madonna and Selena Gomez.

He has been sentenced to 128 days in jail, while also being granted a ‘no contact’ protective order preventing him from contacting Spears or her security guard Richard Eubeler.
