British singer caught up in hilarious on-air gaffe
Jessie Ware has been left in hysterics after a TV presenter got tongue-tied while trying to share the title of her new album.
The singer was appearing on the Australian programme The Project to promote her latest record when host Hamish Macdonald got himself into a spot of bother.
After chatting to Jessie, 38, about her album, That! Feels Good!, the presenter made the awkward blunder.
Going to wrap up the interview and mention the name of the album again, Hamish stumbled and called it ‘That Exclamation Fart’.
Immediately realising his mistake, Hamish quickly corrected himself, but by that point it was too late.
His co-host Georgie Tunny turned and questioned his error, asking ‘what?’, while Jessie started laughing as the rest of the desk ended up in hysterics.
However, they were all able to see the funny side, with the show later posting the moment on their social media account after the segment aired.
‘Sorry, Jessie. We appear to have mispronounced your album name,’ the caption read.
It’s not the first time The Project has found itself at the centre of some awkward on-air moments.
Last year comedian Melanie Bracewell accidently dropped a curse word while appearing on the panel.
Speaking about her experience with Covid-19, she said: ‘The first night I got out, I choked on calamari at dinner, and I went, ‘f***k, this’d be a way to go.’
Also realising her mistake, she quickly tried to backtrack, apologising saying: ‘I’m so sorry! I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry’.
‘That is so bad. I’ve never done that before, but I was so relaxed with you guys, I just let it slip.’
Last week Jessie spoke about some of her recent career highlights, which included supporting Harry Styles on the Chicago leg of his Love on Tour.
‘When people come to a show, you want them to escape for a bit,’ she explained.
While she said they were ‘not there’ to see her, rather for Harry, she enjoyed getting to know them ‘a bit more’.
She also added her new album is a product of being ‘more confident than ever’.
The Project airs on Channel Ten in Australia.
