Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan misses season 2 premiere over Covid
A woman after our own hearts.
The Penelope Featherington star was gutted to miss the big event, but shared an absolutely stunning snap of herself rocking full makeup including a red lip and some stunning jewellery.
She traded her dress for a dressing gown and towel, but still managed to look completely chic.
‘My Bridgerton Premiere look- a little different than expected,’ the 35-year-old wrote on Instagram.
‘So I’ve been struck down with Miss Rona and I’m missing our first premiere- heartbroken is an understatement but sending so much love to my gorgeous cast mates who I hope have the best night.’
She went on to dub her look ‘infectious disease but make it fashion’ and we absolutely love it.
Fans and friends have shared supportive messages, with new Bridgerton cast member Charithra Chandran (Edwina Sharma) writing: ‘We’ll miss you so much my lovely.’
Clara Amfo added: ‘Sending all the love, eff this stupid virus!’
She wasn’t the only star absent from the festivities, with Daphne Bridgerton actress Phoebe Dynevor having filming commitments.
She shared a sweet message on Instagram for her co-stars, writing: ‘Sad not to be with my Bridgerton family tonight – celebrating another season and our incredible cast and crew.
‘I’ll be raising a glass to you all from up north (or more likely a coffee-night shoots calling)’.
The decorative screening was held at London’s Tate Modern, and several celebrity guests oozed glamour and sophistication as the highly-anticipated series will make a grand return on March 25.
Jonathan, 33, looked suave in black tie, and fans will see the actor take centre stage this time round, as Lord Anthony Bridgerton is on the hunt for a suitable viscountess.
While he has his sights set on Edwina, things start to get complicated as he attempts to win over her no-nonsense sister, Kate.
Bridgerton season 2 will be available to stream on Netflix on Friday.
