Braves vs. Astros live score, updates, highlights from Game 3 of 2021 World Series
The Braves and Astros are putting a lot of faith in a pair of rookies.
With the World Series tied at 1-1, each time will be starting a pair of rookie starting pitchers, with Atlanta handing the ball to Ian Anderson and Houston turning to Luis Garcia.
Anderson, fresh off his first full MLB season, has been a dominant postseason pitcher. He shined in four starts in the 2020 postseason and has continued that run in 2021 as the Braves have won each of his three starts. In his postseason career, he has a career 1.47 ERA in 30.2 innings with 36 strikeouts and 14 walks.
After a 2020 regular season that will warrant AL Rookie of the Year consideration, Garcia has struggled through his first three postseason starts. He was unable to pitch out of the third in any outing and allowed 10 earned runs in 5.2 innings. However, he bounced back in Game 6 of the ALCS as he held the Red Sox scoreless in 5.2 innings with one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts.
