Book a trip on this retro Tube carriage for some serious Wes Anderson vibes
To celebrate 160 years of the London Underground, you can ride on a brilliantly-restored Art Deco-style 1938 Stock train.
London Transport Museum will be running return trips from Acton Town to Heathrow T4, and journeys via Heathrow T4 to Northfields on June 10 and 11.
This particular train was the first kind of Tube train to have all of the electrical equipment underneath the floor, combining the latest technology of the era with quintessential late 1930s style — so it really is a fascinating relic of the past.
Not to mention, it’s very aesthetically-pleasing.
The restored train is made up of four cars complete with green and red moquette seating, grab handles and distinctive Art Deco light fittings.
There will be four journeys each day over the weekend with no reserved seating, but you can choose from pink, orange, blue or yellow cars.
It’s worth pointing out that the pink car will be at the front of the train for the first and third trips each day, and the blue train will be at the front for the second and fourth.
For anyone looking to enjoy the ‘timewarp’ Tube, you can book tickets via the London Transport Museum website.
