Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig, stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and America Ferrera, among others. The film follows the journey of a ‘stereotypical Barbie’ and ‘Ken,’ who become unchained and discover the real world with all of its flaws. While Barbie has always been the IT girl in Barbieland, Ken is simply ‘Ken,’ as he puts it. “He might be a ten in another world,” Ryan says in the song. To be honest, being a Ken in a world full of Barbie is difficult. But Ryan Gosling does it effortlessly and with unparalleled grace. He steals the show with his dramatic “Kenergy,” his ‘beach battles’ with other Kens, and their run-in with the police.
