Bold and braless Doja Cat stuns at Time 100 Gala
The Woman singer found all eyes were on her as she rocked up to the red carpet event at New York City’s Jazz at Lincoln Center on Wednesday, modelling a very sheer look indeed.
Before rubbing shoulders with the likes of Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Coolidge, Austin Butler and Salma Hayek, Doja, 27, took up her place on the red carpet in a sheer lilac dress boasting ruffles, spaghetti straps and a small train.
It also featured another sheer top underneath, exposing the fact that Doja was in fact without a bra for the night.
To finish off the daring look, the rapper sported a pair of scarlet red leather gloves.
Doja took to the stage later in the evening and switched her outfit to a black halterneck crop top with a matching skirt with a large puffer jacket hanging off her shoulders. Doja entertained the star-studded audience with a selection of her hits including Woman and Say So.
When she wasn’t performing, the Grammy winner was at her table and sat next to news anchor and TV personality Gayle King, while also posing for pictures with comedian Tiffany Haddish.
The Need To Know hitmaker took centre stage at the event after featuring on one of the covers for this year’s Time 100, which celebrates the world’s most influential people.
Featuring in the pioneers category, Doja received praise in an essay written by Elvis director Baz Luhrmann – the rapper recorded the Grammy-nominated song Vegas for the biopic.
‘I’ve worked with all kinds of artists, but with a certain few you connect on a deeper level. For me, Doja Cat is one of those artists,’ the filmmaker wrote.
‘She’s at the top because she works to bring everything she does to the highest possible level.’
Doja explained how emancipating she felt after shaving off her hair, saying: ‘I think when I shaved my head, it just gave me this sense of self that was different from any other time in my life and I feel younger, I almost feel like 10, 15 years younger than I’ve ever felt.
‘I feel like I kind of am just pushing myself out there and just accepting myself for who I am, no matter who can see me. It’s kind of like I ripped off my shell. And I feel a lot happier now with my natural beauty after shaving my head.’
Doja recently hit headlines after becoming one of the first celebrities to lose her Twitter verification – but has since obtained a Twitter Blue tick.
