Superbike maker, BMW Motorrad has unveiled its latest offering, the BMW M 1000 R, to the Indian market. This addition to the BMW motorcycle lineup is set to offer two distinct variants for riders to choose from: the M 1000 R, priced at Rs 33 lakh, and the M 1000 R Competition, available for Rs 38 lakh (both prices Ex-showroom). Interested enthusiasts can make their bookings for this impressive machine at any BMW Motorrad dealership across India. The highly anticipated deliveries are scheduled to kick off in January 2024.

The M 1000 R marks a significant milestone as the first BMW naked bike to surpass the 200 hp benchmark. Under its sleek exterior, it shares the same powerhouse as the M 1000 RR. This exceptional bike is equipped with a 999 cc, in-line 4-cylinder water-cooled engine that churns out a jaw-dropping 212 horsepower at 14,500 rpm and delivers 113 Nm of peak torque. Notably, BMW claims that this powerhouse can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in a mere 3.2 seconds and boasts an impressive top speed of 280 kilometers per hour.

To cater to diverse riding preferences, the M 1000 R comes equipped with a range of riding modes, including Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro modes. Additionally, it features the latest iteration of Dynamix traction control, a wheelie function powered by a 6-axis sensor box, ABS, ABS pro, launch control, and pit lane limiter for added control and safety.

In terms of advanced features, the bike boasts a 6.5-inch TFT instrument cluster, an OBD interface for the M GPS data logger, an M GPS lap trigger, a lightweight M battery, a rear USB charging socket, efficient LED lights, adaptive turning lights, cruise control for a comfortable ride, and heated grips for those chilly rides.
