Blunder makes it look like Princess Eugenie cropped Kate Middleton out of photo

Princess Eugenie has received huge amounts of backlash over the last few days after she posted a tribute to The Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee on her Instagram account. Her Majesty’s granddaughter shared a series of ten photographs with her 1.6m followers that included everything from snaps of her son, August, to a beautiful image of her and her sister, Princess Beatrice.

Owing to a crop on one of the images which showed The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis on the Buckingham Palace balcony, it looks as if Princess Eugenie has cropped two key members of the family out of the snap.

Many angry commenters flooded the post with messages questioning the princess and why she allegedly cropped The Duchess of Cornwall and The Duchess of Cambridge out of the picture – but there is a simple explanation.

Many commenters were angry after they thought Princess Eugenie had cropped the two royals out

Princess Eugenie posted a wonderful tribute to her grandmother’s landmark reign recently but there was a great deal of backlash from those in the comments.

Many of the royal’s followers accused her of cropping The Duchess of Cornwall and The Duchess of Cambridge out of the second image which showed the family posing on the balcony after the Platinum Jubilee Pageant.

However, the reason behind the image is simply down to an Instagram crop that has restricted how much of it can be seen in a mobile format. Once the image is viewed on a desktop, the full snap of the whole family can be seen.

A large number of confused Instagram users were quick to accuse the princess of deliberately excluding the two royals. One person questioned: “Lovely photos but why would you cut out the next two Queens, Camilla and Catherine?” Another added: “Why are the two ladies missing from the picture? It’s funny that they’re not in the picture.” A final examined: “Was it necessary cutting of the pic the two most important women in the Royal Family?”

Princess Eugenie thrilled royal fans over the bank holiday as she brought her one-year-old son August – who is known by his nickname ‘Augie’ – with her to the Platinum Jubilee Pageant in what was his first public appearance. Before now, The Queen’s great-grandson’s face had not been photographed publicly and images of the back of his head had only been posted by his mother.

The Princess also recently wrote an article for The Spectator where she praised her grandmother’ dedication. She wrote: “As I look back on the 2012 Jubilee and the one we are about to celebrate, I think about how my life has changed in that time. I am now a wife and a mother with so much more responsibility than I had as a 21-year-old just leaving university.”

Speaking about her life 10 years on, she said: “I have given my life to my special little family and hope to impart even an inch of the values my grandmother has lived her life by. I think about my son August and what I’d like for him, what kind of world I’d like him to grow up in.

“And I think of my grannie and what she has stood for, for so many people and for our family during these 70 years. I’d love Augie to have her patience, her calmness and her kindness, while always being able to laugh at himself and keep a twinkle in his eye. And for me… well I’d like the next ten years, after the uncertainty of the pandemic, to be filled with gratitude for Her Majesty’s dedication and service. I hope the next decade is also a time for reflection on how, as a nation, we really are quite a great one. I, for one, am excited to see how we all celebrate this Platinum Jubilee.”
