BlizzCon Returns This November

After taking some time off, BlizzCon is coming back. BlizzCon 2023 is returning to the Anaheim Convention Center this November, Blizzard has announced.

The event will take place November 3-4, 2023. Blizzard said it will provide more information on ticketing, cosplay events, and BlizzCon competitions in June. But for now, the company said fans can expect the event to contain the hallmarks of previous shows, so people can look forward to news and reveals, convention center halls filled with games, and fan get-togethers.

The show historically includes a performance by a major band, too. Previous performers have included The Offspring, Metallica, Muse, Blink 182, and Ozzy Osbourne.

While ticketing details are not yet available, Blizzard said hotel blocks are now available.

BlizzCon debuted in 2005 and has been held every since since except for 2006, 2012, and 2020. The 2020 event was canceled due to the pandemic.

Blizzard’s Mike Ybarra said earlier this month that is has “a lot to show” during BlizzCon 2023, despite the fact that the show hadn’t been announced at the time.

Blizzard announced a survival game in 2022, and fans haven’t seen it yet, so the title seems to be a candidate for something that could show up at BlizzCon. By the time the show takes place in November, Diablo IV will already be released, but BlizzCon could bring news about any potential live-service updates for the game. Blizzard could also provide updates on its biggest franchises like Hearthstone, StarCraft, Warcraft, and more.

In other news, Blizzard just announced major changes to Overwatch 2 by way of confirming that its plans for PvE content have been significantly scaled back.
