‘Black Mirror’ creator used ChatGPT to write an episode: ‘It was s–t’

Oh, the humanity.

“Black Mirror” creator Charlie Brooker, 52, says he used the artificial intelligence software ChatGPT to write an episode of the smash Netflix series — but he wasn’t impressed by the end product.

“I’ve toyed around with ChatGPT a bit,” Brooker told Empire in an interview published Tuesday.

The British series, which premiered in 2011, often explores how scientific and technological advancement can have a negative impact on society.

“The first thing I did was type ‘generate ‘Black Mirror’ episode,’ and it comes up with something that, at first glance, reads plausibly, but on second glance, is s–t,” Brooker continued.

“Because all it’s done is look up all the synopses of ‘Black Mirror’ episodes, and sort of mush them together. Then if you dig a bit more deeply you go, ‘Oh, there’s not actually any real original thought here.’ It’s [1970s impressionist] Mike Yarwood — there’s a topical reference,” he added.

Yarwood, 81, was known as “British television’s first truly successful impressionist” before disappearing from the limelight.

The Post has contacted reps for Brooker for comment.

Season 6 of “Black Mirror” premieres June 15 on Netflix. Salma Hayek, Michael Cera, Aaron Paul, Josh Hartnett, and Kate Mara are set to appear this season, which consists of five episodes.

Meanwhile, a middle school student’s essay recently went viral after his teacher realized it was written by ChatGPT.

The teacher took a yellow highlighter to one line in particular.

“As an AI language model, I don’t have personal expectations or opinions,” the essay read.
