Birthday Special: Karisma Kapoor shows off her impeccable comic timing in her best comedy scenes

Being the leading actress in some of the funniest Bollywood films, Karisma Kapoor has become well-known to the audience. It brings back memories for fans of the films that came out in the 1990s and the early 2000s, which had a very distinct flavour. Her filmography is chock-full of big-budget successes that were much loved. There is no doubting her significant impact on the Hindi film industry. We’re taking a look at a few of the actress’s classic comic scenes in honour of her birthday today.

Karisma Kapoor appeared in a number of comedies from the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s. And it was a fantastic decade for the genre, the kind that brings back fond memories for Bollywood fans of the past. These flicks were lighthearted comedies where minor mistakes would set off a chain of humorous events. Karisma would unavoidably stand out on this list.

Take a look:

Hero No. 1

Hero No. 1 had all the elements of a great entertainer when it was first released in 1997. Although the plot heavily incorporates elements from earlier comedies, the movie is remembered by viewers as an iconic moment in cinema. The romantic comedy centres on a wealthy man who makes an effort to win over the woman’s family in order to ask her to marry him. Yet, the film completely subverts the cliche, with amusing outcomes for every attempt. It features Govinda and Karisma Kapoor, a tried-and-true on-screen couple. Even though Govinda has a reputation as a comedic actor, Karisma was undoubtedly a match for him.

Biwi No. 1

The 1999 movie Biwi No. 1 is a top among the Karisma Kapoor films that were well-liked by the audience. The movie, another David Dhawan production, also included a large ensemble cast that included Salman Khan, Sushmita Sen, Anil Kapoor, and Tabu. In many romantic comedies, Karisma Kapoor follows the classic trope as a Plain Jane who transforms into a diva to capture her man’s affections in the storyline.

Andaz Apna Apna

One of the most entertaining films out there and one of the most quotable Bollywood comedies is Andaz Apna Apna. Karishma Kapoor has incredible comic timing in the movie Andaz Apna Apna because it provides her plenty of room to experiment with slapstick humour and thrive in the chaos that develops over the course of the movie.

Judwaa

In the 1997 movie Judwaa, Salman Khan played both twin brothers Raja and Prem, who were split up at birth but later reunited. Mala, a character played by Karisma Kapoor, is a woman who loves Raja. Despite the fact that the movie was primarily focused on Salman, Karisma managed to hold her own and, of course, did an excellent job. She demonstrated her range of humour and was equally intriguing.

Raja Babu

David Dhawan directed the action-comedy movie Raja Babu in 1994. Govinda and Karisma Kapoor, the leading on-screen couple, quickly became popular with the audience and developed a devoted fan base. And as we all know, David Dhawan recast the well-known Jodi in a number of his later flicks. The movie is regarded as one of their best to date.
