Billy and Mandy Creator Wants to Reboot the Animated Series

The Grim Adventures of Bill and Mandy creator Maxwell Atoms says that he wants to bring the popular anime series back.

As spotted by Cartoon News Network, the animator took to his Tumblr account to reveal what his next Billy and Mandy project could look like.

“It doesn’t look like anyone (including CN) is in danger of making new stuff anytime soon, so I might as well,” he wrote.

Atoms also revealed that he already pitched a reboot of the animated show to Cartoon Network:

“Right now, CN is sitting on a project I came up with to introduce new audiences to Billy & Mandy. That could (through time and a circuitous route) see me getting back to Destroy Us All, but the industry as a whole is in a pretty dark place right now. We’ll see what this year brings and where Time-Warner-Discovery-Comcast-Plus ends up. This wouldn’t be the first time Billy & Mandy have crawled back from the grave.”

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy is known in its Hindi dub as Billy Mandy Aur Life Mein Haddi. It follows the adventures of Billy and Mandy, who are two friends. They win a bet against the Grim Reaper (“Haddi”), and make him their servant forever.

The show was aired from August 2001 to November 2007 in its original run in the United States. It is known for its black comedy and slapstick humour, along with its supernatural and dark themes.
