There was a surprise special guest spotted in the crowd at Mighty Hoopla – comedian Bill Murray.

The annual music festival is underway in London’s Brockwell Park, with certified icons including Kelly Rowland and Natasha Bedingfield among those set to entertain the crowds over the two-day event.

And as thousands descended on the park in gorgeous sunshine, dressed to impress and ready for a night of music and madness, Ghostbusters star Bill was among them.

The actor was spotted at side of stage having a wee bop to Milkshake chart-topper Kelis, who helped kick of Saturday’s celebrations.

It might be the last place you’d expect to find the comedian, but the star is well-known to have proud links to London, and can often be seen strolling the streets – sometimes in incredibly bright outfits.

Assuming he’s been enjoying all the festivities from Saturday’s Hoopla, Bill will already have been treated to a show from Flo, Natasha Bedingfield and former Girls Aloud icon Nadine Coyle.

The Irish star took to the stage in an eye-catching green mini dress, along with a heavy leather duster despite the glorious heat London has been experiencing.

There’s still plenty more to come on the night, with Barbie hitmakers Aqua, Jamelia, Samantha Mumba and former Destiny’s Child star Kelly to take to the stage.

Sunday will bring even more beautiful chaos, with Eurovision winner Loreen, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Vengaboys, Liberty X, Years & Years and much more.

The line-up was announced in November last year and had a huge reaction from fans, with one branding it a ‘gay fever dream.’

Another said at the time that ‘all their dreams had come true’ with the stellar line-up.

Also due to perform was S Club 7’s Rachel Stevens, however the star announced earlier this year that she would have to pull out after the devastating sudden death of her S Club bandmate Paul Cattermole.

Mighty Hoopla shared a post on Twitter to inform fans of the news. They wrote: ‘After the recent tragic passing of S Club’s Paul Cattermole, it is with deep sadness that Rachel Stevens has had to withdraw from performing at this year’s Mighty Hoopla.’

In a separate tweet, they added: ‘We support Rachel and send our love to the entire S Club family, and hope to welcome Rachel back another year.’

Rachel posted her own statement following the news, and told fans she was ‘sad’, but the decision felt necessary as it was ‘just too soon.’

‘I will make it up to you and I promise myself and the Hoopla team will make something work so that I can be back on that stage to celebrate with you all. Sending you all so much love xx.’
