Biker who swore at speed camera while racing past it has motorcycle seized

A BRAZEN biker who repeatedly swore at a speed camera while racing past it has had his motorcycle seized.

The 44-year-old regularly flung a finger or two up at the enforcement device as he broke the 30mph limit.

He was allegedly caught speeding on six occasions, irked by the rogue road user’s dangerous and anti-social behaviour, cops set up a trap to catch him in the act.

Kent’s Road Policing Unit set up camp in an unmarked car near to the camera on Pembury Road, Tunbridge Wells.

And within 15 minutes, the bike appeared and the officers pulled the rider over. When stopped, he was found to not have a driving licence and was also uninsured.

Officers seized the bike and the rider was reported for both offences. He will also be summonsed to court for speeding after he was stopped by officers on April 26.

Chief Inspector Craig West, head of Kent Police’s Roads Policing, said: “Speed limits and cameras are in place to protect the public and should not be treated as a game.

“Motorists who speed risk receiving a fine and points on their licence, and in certain cases being brought before the courts.

“More importantly they risk causing a collision that could result in a death or serious injury. Remember to drive responsibly to protect yourself and other road users.”
