Bihar Police Recruitment: Cabinet approves creation of 75543 vacancies for policemen – Times of India

In an effort to reach its goal of creating 10 lakh jobs in the state, the Bihar cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal to create 75543 vacancies for cops under various categories. Total 13 proposals have been approved by the cabinet.
The cabinet has approved the creation of 7808 posts for the first phase of the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) Dial 112, of police cadre and non-police cadre, according to additional chief secretary S Siddharth.
In order to meet the needs of the growing population in the state the Bihar Govt has decided to increase the strength of the police force by making direct police appointments on 48447 posts. “The cabinet has also approved 19288 positions for ERSS phase 2 recruitment,” the additional chief secretary said.
During the closing ceremony of Police Week on February 27, 2022, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stated that the state government aimed to increase the number of policemen in the state from 165 to 170 per one lakh population.
The Bihar Police conducts recruitment for various positions in the force, including Constables, Sub-Inspectors, and Assistant Sub-Inspectors. The recruitment process typically involves the following steps:
Eligibility: Candidates must meet certain eligibility criteria in terms of age, educational qualifications, physical standards, and nationality.

Final selection: The final selection of candidates will be based on the overall performance in the written examination, physical efficiency test, and medical examination.
