Brad Fittler’s 50th birthday was extra special today after his son Zach debuted for the Roosters’ under-17 Harold Matthews team.
Zach Fittler appears destined to follow in his father’s footsteps, celebrating a 22-14 win over the Eels.
Already as tall as his dad, the 15-year-old, whose rugby league career has been fast-tracked to U17s competitions, weighs in at 105kg and appears destined to land in the back-row.

“He’s making his own path, so he’s extremely excited and a little bit nervous,” Brad Fittler told Nine News.
“He’s bigger and stronger [than me], it happened a few years ago, so I’m used to being dominated at home.
Fittler’s NRL career is well-documented. Winning premierships with both the Panthers and Roosters, he went on to play 336 first grade games.
During his career, Fittler captained both New South Wales in the State of Origin, as well as the Australian team at the Rugby League World Cup, which he successfully won in 1995 and 2000.
And while he’s won three of the past four Origin series as a coach, Fittler admits he’s careful about not overloading his son with information.
“I’m very aware he has his own coaches,” he added.
“There are a lot of times where I want to say something, and most probably the hardest part of my day is not [saying something].”
