Britain’s Got Talent star Ashley Glazebrook, who finished as a runner-up in 2010, has announced that he’s become a dad for the first time.

Ashley, 31, who formed one half of dance duo Twist and Pulse and won Britain’s Got Talent All-Stars in 2019, shared the happy news that his daughter had been born via surrogacy last month.

Ashley and his fiancé Liam Durbidge revealed they spent six days together of solid family bonding after she was born prematurely.

In a post earlier this month, Ashley said: ‘Happy due date, Tillie. Today was your official due date but we were lucky enough to meet you a whole month early.’

Tillie was born via surrogate, with Ashley saying that close friend Abbie ‘changed their lives forever’ when she decided to help them fulfil their wish of starting a family.

At the time, Ashley said: ‘We would never be able to put into words how thankful we are to this incredible woman. We will be forever grateful to Abbie.’

The couple opted for a process known as gestational surrogacy, which is when an anonymous donor’s egg is used to ensure that the baby and surrogate have no biological connection.

Abbie said: ‘Something so simple as having a family really is taken for granted, when I gave birth to my third child it finally sunk in how important family was.’

She continued: ‘This then made me feel so desperate for the couples that were childless. Why couldn’t they have a family like me? I knew I could make a difference.’

Twist and Pulse wowed the nation over a decade ago when they auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent and breezed through the live finals.

They were eventually beaten in the grand final by gymnastic troupe Spellbound, but went on to perform at the Olympics in London in 2012.

In 2019, the duo returned to Britain’s Got Talent for spin-off series The Champions, which they won, beating international competition.
