LEARNERS who take their driving test at an exact time are more likely to pass, according to a study.

According to DVLA data, 63 per cent of students who take their tests between five and six on a Monday evening ace it.

And Mondays are a good day for testing all round, with a 53 per cent pass rate.

But the time to avoid is after 7pm, with just 30 per cent of learners scraping a pass.

And any prospective drivers should try not to book in on a Friday, as just under half – 49 per cent – of learners pass on this day.

A spokesman for Collingwood Insurance Services, who collected the data, said: “Learners should choose the time and date of their driving test with caution, as our study has revealed that different times and days of the week have completely different pass rates on average.

“After analysing DVSA data for 2021, we found that between 5pm and 6pm on a Monday is the best time to pass your test.”

A previous study found that the best place to pass your driving test was the Welsh coastal town of Pwllheli – where 86 per cent of those taking a test ace it.

Of the UK’s 380 driving test centres, the worst pass rate was found to be at Erith, South East London, with just a 32 per cent success rate.
