Best PS5 TV: Sony’s Bravia XR is ‘perfect’ for PlayStation 5 as fans hunt for stock
PlayStation 5 demand remains high and while gamers struggle to find stock, there are still plenty out there who have managed to score a console.
Sony has unveiled its latest television range as being a great choice to use with PS5 consoles.
In a somewhat unsurprising move, the tech giant is hyping up its latest Bravia XR devices as the perfect way to enjoy your PlayStation 5.
This comes down to two different features that these specialised television have; Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.
This stuff can be important to gamers who want the most out of their console, but it comes at a price.
To grab one of these new TVs will cost thousands, much more than the base console from Sony.
Here is how Sony describes the two exclusive features that help get the most out of a PlayStation 5:
Auto HDR Tone Mapping: With Auto HDR Tone Mapping, the HDR settings will be optimized instantly during PS5 initial setup.
The PS5 will automatically recognize individual BRAVIA XR TV models and select the best HDR setting for the TV accordingly. With the optimized HDR tone mapping level to customers’ BRAVIA display specification, they’ll see crucial details and colours even in high contrast scenes. For instance, users will get the addition of detailed objects on the track in Gran Turismo™ 75,6 so they know just how to make their next move.
Auto Genre Picture Mode: BRAVIA XR TVs can detect whether users are playing a game or watching movies and shows.
With Auto Genre Picture Mode, the TV automatically switches into Game Mode when gaming, which minimizes input lag to make the action more responsive, or to Standard Mode when watching movies via a streaming service or from an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc on the PS5, which shifts focus to picture processing for a more expressive picture.
The news has been shared by PS5 Stock UK – a reliable stock tracker account on Twitter – which is known for providing the best guides on what’s happening next.
The message posted on Twitter by PS5 Stock UK reads: “GAME has updated the PS5 bundles page with a 21/10 release date, indicating a possible online restock around the 12th of October. No further information is currently available.
“For those who don’t know, the release date written by GAME is the last day they expect to deliver standard delivery orders. We predict that the restock should take place 12/10 with priority orders delivered by 15/10. Once official information is released, we’ll let you know asap.”
As always, these reports need to be taken with a pinch of salt before they are confirmed by the retailer.
