‘Best’ place to buy ice cream in the UK has ‘incredible’ gelato

There’s little better than a tub or cone filled with delicious ice cream on a hot day.

And with the weather warming up already, the prospect of a dreary, rainy summer becomes more and more unlikely.

Many Britons like to go abroad for their summer holidays but there are plenty of options for a yummy ice cream here in the UK.

For those searching for the best ice cream British beaches have to offer, head to Jelbert’s in Newlyn, Cornwall.

For those not heading to the beach this year, there are lovely ice cream parlours all over the UK.

In a recent article by The Guardian entitled The 12 best places to buy ice cream in the UK, Swoon took the top spot.

Located in Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and London’s Selfridges, there are several opportunities to try this tasty treat.

The publication stated that their pastry chef and Guardian food writer Ravneet Gill is a big fan of the “excellent” gelato at the Bristol branch.

For another Bristol ice cream spot, head to her second recommendation, Farro’s bakery, which she “loved”.

Swoon’s official website reads: “We believe every life is made a little better by gelato, and bringing people together over gelato is what we do.

“The very best in artisan gelato, made with love and laughter to lift your spirits.”

Swoon’s official Instagram page reads: “Freshly made Gelato to Fall in love with.” It made a promise to customers that it “uses only the finest ingredients”.

Swoon’s website reads: “From our Somerset milk to the pistachios we source from Bronte in Sicily, we only accept the very best that nature can offer to put into our gelato.”

For ice cream lovers who like to experiment with flavour, the chefs “dream up” seasonal flavours of sorbet and gelato.

One Tripadvisor review sang the Bristol location’s praises, although claimed the queues are long.

It read: “Incredible ice cream; the list of flavours is so inviting! I had tiramisu which was just heavenly. My daughter had a chocolate brownie cone which looked delicious. It was so nice they offered a bambino portion which was perfect (still ample) at £2.50.”
