There’s nothing quite like a city for getting your art fix.

Some cities trump others though, being artier and offering more to see.

Which is best is up for debate, but art website posterXXL thinks they have found the top 10, through assessing five categories: the number of art galleries, art festivals and art schools, the number of famous artists from each place, and the number of buildings designed by a renowned architect.

Using that information, London came out as the top destination – home to the Tate Modern and the National Portrait Gallery.

The city also has seen over 1,100 top artists live there, followed by Paris at 1,088.

Though Paris didn’t even make the top two, as Amsterdam is in second place, which has five art schools and five art festivals – more than any other European city.

These are the cities to check out for your next cultural break.
