Bergdorf Goodman fashion exec Linda Fargo lists $1.3M co-op

Effortlessly chic Linda Fargo, Bergdorf Goodman’s SVP of fashion and store presentation director, is listing her also-chic Sutton Place home.

The style icon’s co-op at 14 Sutton Place South is on the market for $1.29 million.

The 10th-floor residence comes with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and plenty of prewar details, all in a Rosario Candela-designed building that dates to 1929.

“Crossing First Avenue and arriving on Sutton is like leaving New York,” Fargo told Gimme Shelter, adding that she looked at more than 100 apartments before finding this one. “It feels more European, with a beautiful mix of eras and buildings, river views, an extra-wide street and local family-run purveyors for cheese, meat, fish and wine.”

The room, which could also host a dining area, features a woodburning fireplace and high ceilings. It’s next to an eat-in kitchen.

The home opens to a foyer that leads to a large living room with original herringbone wood floors.

Both bedrooms come with ensuite bathrooms. The main bedroom has two large walk-in closets while the second bedroom has been converted into a den.

“A Candela layout is brilliant and thoughtful,” Fargo added. “There’s perfect consideration of the flow between public and private space, and the proportions are perfect. High ceilings, thick walls and floors, solid doors and plenty of closets.”

A new relationship has prompted the move — but, she tells us, she is firmly staying in the ‘hood. (She also calls Sutton Place the city’s best kept secret, adding that the unit would cost double if it were downtown.) The building comes with a landscaped rooftop garden, a gym, central laundry and storage.

The listing broker is Corcoran’s Doug McCullough.
