Beatrice Luigi Gomez looked back on her journey in Miss Universe Philippines, a year after she was given the local title.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 titleholder described her crowning moment in the pageant as “joyous,” as she recalled her experience in it via her Instagram page yesterday, Sept. 30. Gomez also showed herself with her Miss Universe Philippines Top 5 queens wearing their crowns during the pageant’s coronation night.

“I can’t believe that it has only been a year since that joyous moment when Cebu City was called as Miss Universe Philippines 2021,” she said.

“In my head around this same time last year was Murphy’s Law which states that if anything could go wrong, it will. I can never mess up anything that’s meant for me and that’s when I finally freed myself from worries and just enjoyed the whole experience.”

Gomez then noted that joining Miss Universe Philippines was “just a thing off [her] bucket list,” but it ended up becoming the “biggest plot twist” of her life.

“…I would do it all over again with my sisters and friends at Miss Universe Philippines 2021 if I could,” she told fans. “Other than the Miss Universe experience in Israel this was definitely the biggest highlight of my 2021. I will forever cherish this memory and the people who were a part of this chapter in my life.”

Gomez earned her Miss Universe Philippines crown on Sept. 30, 2021, making her the first out member of the LGBTQ+ community to be given the local title.

Her victory in the local competition qualified her to compete and finish in the top 5 of the global Miss Universe tilt last December 2021. Harnaaz Sandhu of India was crowned Miss Universe during the pageant edition that year.  /ra
