Beatrice and Eugenie’s engagement rings are ‘very different’ – only one ‘incredibly rare’
Maxwell Stone stated: “Princess Eugenie’s and Princess Beatrice’s engagement rings are both stunning, but also very different.
“Princess Beatrice opted for a three-stone diamond ring, while Eugenie chose a Padparadscha sapphire which are incredibly rare – much rarer than diamonds.”
According to Maxwell, Beatrice’s ring from Edoardo is an “absolute stunner”.
He said: “A six-claw round diamond takes centre stage, which looks to be around three carats. The round diamond shoulders two tapered baguettes, which gives the ring a vintage feel and Art Deco-inspired look.
“For added sparkle, the ring also features small pavé diamonds halfway around the band.”

Princess Beatrice has followed many iconic royal women in choosing a classic diamond ring.
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, possesses a five-carat emerald cut diamond with baguettes running along the side, which previously belonged to the Queen Mother.
Maxwell added that Princess Beatrice’s ring is “very similar” to Meghan Markle’s, “not to mention her Grandmother’s ring, Queen Elizabeth”.
Timeless and elegant, diamond engagement rings are the traditional, even inevitable, choice.
But while many brides enjoy an opulent diamond engagement ring, Beatrice’s was rather costly, estimated between £130,000 to £140,000.

“The diamonds are VVS grade, which means they have minuscule inclusions that are difficult even for trained eyes to see under 10x magnification.”
Equally as beautiful but much less traditional is younger sister Eugenie’s engagement ring, complete with a gorgeous padparadscha sapphire.
Maxwell stated: “They are strikingly beautiful with unique shades of pink and orange, often resembling the colours of a sunset.
“These are extremely rare stones which many people haven’t even heard of.
The Natural Sapphire Company seconded this, revealing that while the stone is “unknown to most”, it becomes an “absolute favourite” when people discover it.
Maxwell explained: “The centre stone is an oval cut Padpardscha sapphire, which looks to be around three to four carats.
“This is a notably rare gemstone, thanks to its unparalleled salmon hue.
“It is surrounded by 10 brilliant cut diamonds and two pear cut diamonds, which do a remarkable job of emphasising the sapphire, to create an eye-catching finish.
“This sapphire is mainly obtained in Sri Lanka and resembles the area’s peach coloured flowers.”
While Eugenie’s ring differs largely from her sister’s, the design does echo the engagement rings of two other fashionable royals, Sarah Ferguson and Princess Diana.
Strikingly similar, Sarah Ferguson’s ring is shaped like a flower and also boasts a dynamic, vibrant stone.
Rather than an orangey-pink however, it is a stunning ruby red.
Like mother, like daughter, both jewels are set on a yellow gold band, “which is a custom for royal brides”, and Eugenie’s includes “two stunning tapered diamonds at the shoulders of the yellow gold shank”.
Another British royal style icon who boasted for a colourful gem was Princess Diana, whose magnificent 12-carat Ceylon sapphire is now worn by none other than the Duchess of Cambridge.
While Eugenie’s ring is extremely different to sister Beatrice’s, it is equally valuable, worth between £120,000-£140,000, according to Maxwell.
Like the Princesses, both engagement rings are stunning, and emulate the royal women who went before them.
