Bea Alonzo overjoyed with her ‘theater era’ after performing on ‘Ang Larawan’ stage
Bea Alonzo seems to be enjoying her so-called “theater era” with the “best people in the industry” as one of the cast members of “Ang Larawan: the Concert” last May 6.
Alonzo took to her Instagram account on Sunday, May 7 to share glimpses of her favorite moments as Elsa Montes in the musical held at the Manila Metropolitan Theater. The photos showed the actress donning a vintage blue dress while performing onstage.
“In my theater era. I truly enjoyed performing on stage last night for the first time with the best people in the industry,” she said in the caption.
The “One More Chance” star expressed her delight with her theater experience, saying that she “greatly respects” the industry.
“I greatly respect everything they do to preserve the Philippines’ culture and arts. [performing arts emoji] #ContraMundum #NationalHeritageMonth,” she wrote.
Fellow celebrities Julie Anne San Jose and Dimples Romana, as well as co-stars Markki Stroem and Kakai Bautista praised Alonzo for her recent acting milestone, as seen in the comments of her post.
The Kapuso star seemed to have regarded her “Ang Larawan: the Concert” as an unforgettable experience as she shared more of her favorite moments on social media.
Stroem also uploaded photos of himself with Alonzo onstage on his personal Instagram page, where they appear to be engaged in a dramatic encounter.
“Paalam Candida, Paalam Paula! I will miss our Conga barkada! Had such a blast performing with this wonderful all-star cast at the @metphofficial CONTRA MUNDUM! What a magical time machine ride to the 1940’s! Clad in our gorgeous period outfits performing in this almost century old theater,” he wrote.
The musical is said to be the culmination of the Metropolitan Theater’s tribute to The Order of National Artists of the Philippines, where Ryan Cayabyab served as the musical director. It starred Alonzo, Stroem, Bautista, Karylle, Jericho Rosales, Nonie Buencamino, Rachel Alejandro, Aicelle Santos, and Kakki Teodoro.
Reports of Alonzo joining the cast first emerged in April 2023 when she posted photos of herself with the cast on social media.
