BBC Celebrity Masterchef viewers full of praise for Kitty Scott-Claus for competing in drag
Fans of BBC Celebrity Masterchef were in complete awe of semi-finalist Kitty Scott-Claus. Kitty was a runner-up in series three of Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK.
In tonight’s quarter-final, Kitty went up against former Corrie star Ryan Thomas and presenter Lisa Snowdon for a place in the semi-final. Cooking a broccoli and stilton soup starter and beef bourguignon main, Kitty was against the clock to get everything done in just over an hour.
Audiences were in awe of the drag queen, who completed the task wearing a full face of make-up and towering high heels. Thankfully, her work paid off and she was awarded a place in next week’s semi-final alongside Lisa Snowdon.

It wasn’t just the judges who were impressed with Kitty’s menu either. The episode saw the return of three celebrity champions from previous seasons – presenter Angelica Bell, athlete Greg Rutherford and Paralympian Kadeena Cox.
All three praised Kitty’s offering, which was served with mashed potato. Fans also took to social media to express their admiration.
@GillHayward1 said "Kitty Scott-Claus is bloody brilliant. Loving life and not taking it all too seriously. More please!"
@AndyJamesMichel said "[Kitty] is AMAZING!! We need more of her on tv! She needs her own show!!" While Alan S confessed that they were "Loving Kitty’s menu".
Imogen, @miminogen, tweeted: "I love how they have the queens who go on Masterchef in full drag, am absolutely sweating cobs just watching them"
Lisa Snowdon also impressed celebrities and judges with her pan-fried halibut and truffle pesto main followed by dark chocolate mousse and raspberry sauce. Unfortunately, actor Ryan Thomas fell short of a place in the semi-final.
The star, who was visibly nervous throughout, cooked salt and pepper squid and green peppercorn mayonnaise as his first course, followed by pan-fried cannon of lamb with salsa verde romesco and za’atar cauliflower. Speaking to the judges he confessed that he "hates the whole experience but love the validation and that for me is what it’s all about".
Next week, a number of stars will return to help the semi-finalists in their fight to reach the last round.
