BBC Breakfast’s Rachel Burden in health update after fan asks if she’s ‘on the mend’
Rachel Burden, 56, has taken to Twitter to respond to a concerned fan, after she revealed that “Covid has finally caught up” with her. The BBC Breakfast host had explained that although she has been double vaccinated, she “might need a wee bit of time out” while suffering symptoms of the virus.
Speaking on her isolation period, Rachel typed last night: “I am at home on my own watching a documentary about biscuits.
“Isolation is the gift that keeps on giving,” she added.
One of her followers instantly responded: “Isn’t it great? Hope you’re well on the mend.”
Rachel admitted the Channel 4 documentary, The Secret World Of Biscuits narrated by Dawn French, had her full attention as she appeared to be feeling slightly better.

A fourth penned: “It’s the fatigue which is difficult to deal with. Take care and get well soon. X.”
Rachel previously informed listeners that she would be absent from her 5 Live show in a tweet last Monday.
The star revealed she was resting in bed with ice cream to cheer herself up.
Rachel said: “After 18 months of talking about it, covid has finally caught up with me.
“Currently self-medicating in bed with paracetamol and a mini magnum.
“@PatricKielty and @LauraMcGhie_ with you in the morning. Look after yourselves. X.”
Rachel’s BBC Breakfast and 5 Live co-star Naga Munchetty was one of many who sent a supportive message to her following news of her Covid battle.
The BBC star wrote in view of her 259,000 followers: “Sending love xx.”
