Baxter looking for Chiefs consistency after Bucs win
Kaizer Chiefs got their much needed boost when they won the Soweto derby in their last outing in the DStv Premiership. Amakhosi beat Orlando Pirates 2-1 to secure an important three points and bragging rights for their supporters.

But while coach Staurt Baxter admitted that winning the big derby would be a boost, he was aware that his team needs to be more consistent.
The same was said of Amakhosi after their big 4-0 drubbing of Chippa United in early October and supplemented it with a 2-1 win over a stronger SuperSport United.
But, with their supporters believing that the side had caught on some form and their team could mount a serious challenge for the title, they lost to a less fashionable Stellenbosch FC.
“The players will get a little rest. I will be hobbling around (in Naturena) waiting for training to resume so we can try and work on getting some consistency,” said Baxter in the derby post match media conference.

As things stand, it looks to be a long short to consider Amakhosi as possible title chasers as they are an incredible 10 points behind runaway leaders Mamelodi Sundowns after 10 games.
Amakhosi are on 15 points and are sitting in sixth position. It would take some stumbling from Masandawana and Amakhosi finding and keeping form for them to get back into the race for the title.
Looking at their next five games, Amakhosi will have to double their efforts if they are to get satisfying results. They are away to Maritzburg United on Sunday in what should be a highly tactical game.
They will have to be at their best to get anything out of former coach Ernst Middendorp’s hard-running side. After that they will be at home against AmaZulu who have also disappointingly struggled for form in domestic football this season.
After that they visit fellow Sowetans Swallows FC who are also struggling to get into any form this term. But they could be a tough nut for Amakhosi to crack as it will be a derby match.
They also have Cape Town City, Golden Arrows, Sekhukhune United, Royal AM, and finish the year off with Maritzburg.
