Battlegrounds Mobile India To Shut Down PUBG Mobile Data Transfer With Facebook Accounts
“However, logins with Facebook accounts in the embedded browser of Android devices will be disabled in the future, according to the policy update related to the Facebook SDK,” reads a post from the company.
“Accordingly, after the date mentioned below, the data transfer of Facebook accounts will be shutdown, and logins will not be possible unless the Facebook App is installed.”
Here are the dates on which the Facebook login and data transfer services will be deactivated:
- September 28 – Shutdown of Data Transfer with Facebook accounts.
- October 5 – Login disabled unless the Facebook App is not installed on the device.
The restrictions to data transfer and login via Facebook are only applicable to Android users. Previously, Krafton allowed Battlegrounds Mobile India players to transfer their data from PUBG Mobile Nordic Map ‘Livik’, which was restricted for Google Play Games accounts. With the latest restriction on data transfer through Facebook, it looks like Krafton is finally ready to cut ties with PUBG, even though it has lifted many features directly from PUBG before.
While Battlegrounds Mobile India continues to grow in popularity, it may soon see some familiar competition with PUBG: New State making its way into the country. It will be interesting to see what Krafton’s India specific version of the game adopts from its international rivals.
Battlegrounds Mobile India is out now on the Google Play Store for Android and Apple’s app store for iOS devices.
