Batman fans will need to pay £1,3K for a model of the caped crusaders’ Batmobile
BATMAN fans might need some of Bruce Wayne’s dosh if they want to build a new model of the Caped Crusader’s car — as it will set them back £1,300.
Devotees must buy 120 copies of a magazine partworks series, most of them £10.99 each, for the bits to assemble the Batmobile Tumbler.
They would also have to shell out another £180 for a glass case to show off the motor when they finally complete it in two-and-a-half years.
Fans scoffed at the deal to make the model, described as a “cross between a Lamborghini and a tank”.
It features in director Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy.
One said: “Partworks are such a con. Latest advertised on TV is the Batmobile Tumbler.
PT1 is £1.99, PT2 is £6.99, PT3 onwards is £10.99 bringing the total cost to £1,305.80. How much? You’re having a giraffe.”
Another said: “You have to buy 120 editions for the parts. What world do we live in?”
Hachette Partworks boasts the 22in by 14in by 7½in model has lights, motion and sounds.
The firm was blasted in 2019 over a £440 Peter Rabbit quilt which took two years to make.
It was contacted for comment.
