Barmy Army’s beautiful act for Cummins’ mum
England’s Barmy Army has created a beautiful moment for Australian Test captain Pat Cummins’ ill mother, who is in palliative care.
Cummins flew home to Sydney after the second Test in Delhi and has ruled himself out of the third Test against India to be at his mother’s bedside.
Cummins’ mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005.

On day two of the second Test between New Zealand and England in Wellington, the Barmy Army performed ‘Maria’ from the musical West Side Story in support of Cummins’ mother, Maria.
With a video of the song posted to Twitter, Cummins responded, thanking the group for the kind gesture.
“This is amazing @TheBarmyArmy, thankyou. Mum loved watching this and felt very touched,” he wrote on Monday.
Returning to the rivalry between the supporters, the Barmy Army replied: “See you in the summer”.
Australia will head to the UK for an Ashes series in June, with the first Test to be played in Edgbaston, starting on June 16.
The blockbuster five-Test series will be broadcasted in Australia by Channel Nine.
