Barcelona ready Bruno Fernandes bid and more Man United transfer rumours

Barcelona are reportedly eyeing up a shock move for Bruno Fernandes as an alternative to Manchester United target Erling Haaland.

According to reports in Spain, the Catalan giants have made Haaland their priority target for the summer, with the Norwegian’s £64million release clause coming into effect at the end of the current season.

They are, of course, not the only club looking to secure Haaland’s signature, with the Borussia Dortmund superstar attracting interest from Europe’s top clubs, including United.

El Nacional report that Barcelona president Joan Laporta has identified Fernandes as an alternative option to Haaland, and feels United failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League could work in his favour.

Barca though are struggling themselves to secure a place at the top table of European football, with Xavi’s side currently sitting fifth in La Liga.

Furthermore, it is claimed that they would need to sacrifice one of Pedri or Gavi in order to make room for Fernandes, who was linked with Barcelona before making the move to United from Sporting Lisbon in 2020.

Elsewhere, reports in Italy suggest United are leading the race for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Serbia international has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but as of yet nothing has materialised.

But with United looking at their midfield as a priority for the January transfer window, they’re said to be stepping up their efforts to sign Milinkovic-Savic, with Calciomercato claiming the club are making ‘concrete signals’ in their attempts to finally land him.

The report states that Juventus are also interested, but may not be able to meet Lazio’s £58million valuation of the player, with United leading the way as they ready themselves to make a formal bid.
