“A diamond’s gotta shine” — This was what Barbie Forteza had to say after she had a solo walk on the GMA Gala 2023 red carpet and went against prior expectation that she would be bringing a date with her.
The actress, who has created a buzz after she went alone to the event, addressed this as she responded to Twitter user @ShowbizBanter, through Forteza’s Twitter page on Sunday, July 23.
“Going solo,” it said, showing individual photos of Forteza, her boyfriend Jak Roberto and her love team partner David Licauco at the event.
“The long wait is finally over. Millions of fans got their answer,” it added. “Barbie Forteza, Jak Roberto and David Licauco all went solo while walking the red carpet of GMA Gala 2023.”
Forteza shared the tweet, quoting a line from Taylor Swift’s hit song “Bejeweled” in the caption: “What’s a girl gonna do? A diamond’s gotta shine.”

Forteza was then greeted with admiration from fans who commended the actress for owning her moment and “shining brightly” on her own.
