Looking fierce and staring intensely at each other during the look test for their upcoming series, Kapuso stars Barbie Forteza and David Licauco teased their chemistry for the remake of the 1991 film “Maging Sino Ka Man.”

The 1991 film, topbilled by Senator Robin Padilla and Megastar Sharon Cuneta, will be adapted in the upcoming Kapuso primetime series, with Forteza reprising the role of Monique, and Licauco playing the character of Carding.

The pair have alerted fans of their next TV project, sharing the news on their social media accounts.

Prior to the look test and the confirmation from the “Maria Clara at Ibarra” co-stars, Licauco told GMA entertainment correspondent Aubrey Carampel last month that his role for his next TV series with Forteza is his most challenging role yet.

“Kasi usually, lahat ng roles ko rich kid na negosyante and all that. So ngayon, it’s a different kind of David. And I would say, ito na siguro ‘yung pinaka-challenging role [ko] ever,” the “Pambansang Ginoo” said.

(Because usually, all of my roles are that of a rich kid who is a businessman and all that. So now, it’s a different kind of David. And I would say that this role, probably, is my most challenging role ever.)

In the original movie, which features action scenes, Padilla played a thief who is looking after several children. Cuneta’s role, on the other hand, is that of a singer and daughter of a rich businessman forced to hide and take on a different identity after a threat to her life.

Fans of the “BarDa” loveteam expressed excitement for the pair’s primetime TV comeback. One @MsWowie, alluding to a photo of the two from the test look, said that they carry an “astig” (cool) vibe. On the other hand, another user who goes by @ssseptembrrr commented, “Monique, kaya pala nagvivideoke ka na lately [laughing-crying emoji],” seemingly hinting that Forteza’s been having her videoke sessions.

Following their highly successful pairing in “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” which concluded in February, the Kapuso artists are also set to appear in the movie “That Kind of Love,” which has already wrapped up filming. In May, the pair flew to South Korea to shoot scenes for the upcoming film. EDV
