Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Startup Fund Invests in Indus Battle Royale Developer, SuperGaming; All You Need To Know

SuperGaming, the game developer behind popular mobile titles such as MaskGun and Silly Royale and upcoming Battle Royale title Indus has received economic backing from Bandai Namco.

Japanese game developer and publisher, Bandai Namco is behind some of the most iconic video game franchises like Pac-Man, Tekken, Dragon Ball, Dark Souls, One Piece, Naruto, Soulcalibur, and more. It has invested in SuperGaming through its Bandai Namco Entertainment 021 Fund.

The publisher created the 021 startup investment fund “to strengthen existing entertainment businesses and to create next-generation entertainment businesses by combining the ideas and technologies of venture companies”. The company believes that it can help upcoming businesses with its “expertise in creating IPs and entertainment.”

Bandai Namco-run fund is most notably known for its investments in the world of AR/VR, metaverse, AI, blockchain, and more. In its recent announcement, the company has also announced its plans to back AI-based automatic motion recognition technology company, DeepMotion besides SuperGaming.

As mentioned in Bandai Namco’s statement, the company aims to expand its business in the Asian market, a market with tremendous potential to grow. While the company has announced an economic boost for SuperGaming but it has not shared the finer details of the investment.

SuperGaming is known for developing PAC-MAN, an IP owned by Bandai Namco. “Working on PAC-MAN was a bucket list item which I have been fortunate to tick off,” said Roby John, the Co-Founder and CEO of SuperGaming. John further added, “A customer becoming an investor is the biggest validation we at SuperGaming could ever ask for, so it’s a tremendous honor to have Bandai Namco invest in us and join us on our journey of making games people play for years.”

Now, SuperGaming is working on its most ambitious title called Indus Battle Royale, which features elements of Indo Futurism, and more.
