BA flights grounded at Heathrow with passengers facing ‘indefinite delays’

BRITISH Airways customers were left fearing for their flights at Heathrow Airport tonight after the airline suffered a major system outage.

The BA website was completely down this evening – sparking fears of travel chaos.

The airline’s check-in systems were also said to be down in what has been its second outage in 10 days.

Users on Twitter posted messages asking BA when the problem would be fixed, with one man sharing a video of lengthy queues at check-in.

Another user posted pictures of blank screens at the airport.

BA said tonight it was working hard to resolve a technical issue, adding it was still checking customers in and operating flights.

A spokesman for British Airways said: “We’re investigating and working hard to resolve a technical issue and apologise for the inconvenience.

“We’re operating flights and checking customers in.”
