B.League: Kiefer Ravena posts double-double as Shiga routs Shibuya
MANILA, Philippines—Kiefer Ravena’s double-double fueled the Shiga Lakes to a 93-68 romp of Sun Rockers Shibuya in the Japan B.League at Shiga Prefecture on Sunday.
Ravena had 15 points and 10 rebounds to go along with five assists and two steals to give Shiga back-to-back wins over the weekend.
Former NBA cager Ryan Kelly paced Shibuya with 18 points.
Thirdy Ravena and the San-En Neophoenix, meanwhile, bounced back from Saturday’s loss with a 59-56 victory over Utsunomiya Brex, 59-56.
Like his older brother Kiefer, Thirdy also shot 15 points while also grabbing seven rebounds with three assists to boot in the victory.
Kai Sotto continued his string of stellar outings after powering the Hiroshima Dragonflies past the Toyama Grouses anew, 94-77, at Toyama Prefecture on Sunday.
Sotto posted 10 points and six rebounds while Naoto Tsuji led Hiroshima with 17 points.
Novar Gadson nearly tallied a double-double with 25 points and nine rebounds in a losing effort for Toyama.
Matthew Wright had himself another stellar game but Kyoto came up short and succumbed to the Shimane Susanoo Magic, 92-89, at Tottori Prefecture.
Wright fired 20 points , sinking four three-point baskets in the process.
Perry Buford gave Kyoto fits 26 points for Shimane.
Dwight Ramos had a subpar outing in Levanga Hokkaido’s 73-70 win over Tokyo Alvark at Yoyogi Stadium.
Ramos only finished with three points, two boards and two steals in 25 minutes. Sean Long stepped up for Kyoto on the offensive end with 25 points on a hot 10-of-14 shooting shooting clip.
Carl Tamayo logged only three minutes and was scoreless again in the Ryukyu Golden Kings’ 75-70 victory against Sendai 89ers at Okinawa Prefecture.
In B2 action, Nagasaki Velca buried the Kagawa Five Arrows, 89-74, at Nagasaki Prefecture.
Jordan Heading exploded for 18 built on three baskets from beyond the arc to repeat over Kagawa. He also got three dimes and three steals.
