The highly anticipated film Dream Girl 2 has been postponed. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana who previously portrayed the character of Karam Singh or Pooja, has been sharing many intriguing teasers of the film. It also features Ananya Panday in the lead role. The film was previously slated to hit the cinemas on July 7 this year. But, the makers announced that the film will now be released on August 25, 2023.
Ananya Panday and Ayushmann Khurrana both took to their Instagram reels and shared a note with the new release date. The note was read out in Pooja’s voice which stated, “Mere priya Aashiqon, Chaar saal baad aapke Dil Ka Telephone phir se ring ring hoga. Ab iske liye taiyaari bhi toh shaandaar, dhamakedaar aur smoochiebhari honi chahiye na? Toh karo thoda aur intezaar; And keep sending lots of pyaar! Ab #7KoSaathMein nahin, Pooja ki kiss on August Pachees! Dream Girl 2 releasing in theatres on 25th August 2023. -Aapki pyaari Pooja.”
The caption read, “Pachees badi hai mast mast, kyunki @pooja___dreamgirl aa rahi hai on 25 August. #PoojaKiKissOnAug25 #DreamGirl2 releasing in theatres on 25th August, 2023.”
Meanwhile, a few days ago, Ayushmann dropped a new teaser of the film where his character Pooja is on a call with ‘Bhaijaan’.
Dream Girl 2 also stars Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Manoj Joshi, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa, and Rajpal Yadav. It is the sequel to the successful 2019 film Dream Girl, which starred Nushratt Bharuccha alongside Ayushmann. In the film, Ayushmann portrayed the role of a hotline caller who would transform his voice into a girl’s voice.
Dream Girl 2 is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Ekta Kapoor.
