Awareness programme by Income Tax (exemptions) held – Times of India

PRAYAGRAJ: Income tax awareness and public relations outreach programme was organised by the Income Tax department (exemptions), Allahabad, on Friday.
The programme was held under the direction of Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemptions), Lucknow, Jyotsana Johri and the Additional Commissioner Richa Rastogi.
During the programme, the Income Tax department explained exemptions related to radical changes made in the provision of 12A, 10 (23c) 80G related to exemption certificates received by charitable organisations and educational institutions claiming income tax exemptions by the department. At the same time, it has been made mandatory for all the charitable and educational institutions, which are already getting the benefit of income tax exemption before April 1, 2021 to obtain income tax exemptions certificate again in the new system. For this, it is mandatory for these organisations to fill form No 10A for re-registration. The last date was extended from time to time. But the issue was raised by many organizations before the Central Board of Direct Taxes that these organizations have still not been able to renew their income tax exemptions certificate though Form 10A.
Considering sympathetically the problem of these institutions, the Central Board of Direct Taxes has extended the last date of Form No. 10A to be filled by charitable and educational institutions till November 25. Hence, this programme was organised to spread awareness among all stakeholder on the subject.
Richa Rastogi, presented a complete information of detailed procedure filling Form 10A online and the statutory provisions related to it by PPT. The provisions and major problems related to income tax exemptions were discussed through debate, informed Income Tax Officer (Exemptions), Allahabad, Roma Sondhi.
