Awareness event for breast cancer to be conducted at KGMU – Times of India
This was informed by prof Anand Mishra, faculty at endocrine surgery, KGMU on Friday. He said, “There are many myths associated with breast cancer that can keep one away from seeking timely help. Timely screening, diagnosis and a range of treatment options can save lives. These issues will be addressed with this program which is being organised by department of endocrine surgery KGMU and Breast Cancer Support Group on Saturday at Selby Hall of the university.”
He informed that deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak will inaugurate the event at the university and it will be attended by Bollywood actress Padmini Kohlapure, Arjuna awardee Padmashree Malathi Krishnamurthy Holla and gynecologist Dr Pragya Tripathi.
The patient will get to know how to cope with the physical and emotional changes of cancer. They will be told to follow the instructions of the doctors to ensure a good prognosis of the disease. Stories of saviours and ways to deal with breast cancer will be informed at the event.
