Avatar: The Way of Water Trailer Preview: 13 Years Later, the Sequel Promises a Breathtaking Visual Experience

Legendary filmmaker James Cameron will return with a bang later this year with the upcoming sequel to his sci-fi adventure film, Avatar.

The sequel titled Avatar: The Way of Water will hit theatres on December 16 around the world, and fans can’t wait to see Cameron and his crew have got in store for them with regards to filmmaking.

The original Avatar movie released to much fanfare back in 2009, and following multiple delays, The Way of Water will be the first of four sequels that the Canadian filmmaker has planned to release, with the other three set to arrive in the year 2024, 2026 and 2028.

Avatar remains one of the biggest blockbusters of all time, and it currently sits at the top of the box office rankings, with the movie raking in over $2.845 billion.

The first trailer for the sequel will release with Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will drop later this week. However, we recently had the opportunity to get a sneak peak of the upcoming movie, and while the trailer didn’t reveal anything about the plot, one thing is certain: The visual experience of this movie will be breathtaking.

Avatar: The Way of Water will be going deep into the unexplored underwater world of the planet Pandora, which looks mesmerizing and there are a bunch of new otherworldly creatures that will be making their debut as well. Along with that, we also saw a bunch of exciting new combat and action sequences as well. All in all, the movie looks to deliver a similar experience with a heightened visual fidelity, and hopefully a much stronger story

With a heavier focus on the oceans of Pandora, it will be interesting to see how the movie will showcase the big blue seas of Pandora, as James Cameron has talked about using new technology involving performance capture, and just like the original, Avatar: The Way of Water will be looking to break new ground in terms of filming blockbuster movies.
